Prejudice is never intelligent.
Prejudice is born of ignorance;
Applying one observation
To a whole class of individuals.
Prejudice is embraced by small minds, who, in their fear, in their longing for safety, Are too shallow to realize, too UN-enlightened to understand that true safety exists only in openness:Â
in open minded,
open hearted
Expanded Awareness.
Consider these words from 1st Corinthians (The Message):
No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Those who truly Trust in a Higher Power
Have no need of prejudice.
Those who truly love
Have no use for fear
Regardless of how it is disguised.
Wisdom cannot exist
Where fear has a reign.
I am thankful for wise, loving, kind friends
who embrace life,
who embrace Love,
and who are willing to overcome smallness,
to be a force for Unity through Diversity.

I recently visited the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, NC. It was such a moving experience, and brought out such love in my heart – and everyone else on the tour. We were deeply inspired by the LOVE of four college students who began the lunch counter sit-ins at Woolworth so long ago. Their movement was successful because it was just, and because they came from love.

I love this post and wish it was standard teaching in the first grade of every school. How different would our lives and world be if we were all taught, by word and example, what love is and what it is not?
